Introduction
If you are on this page, it is likely that you have been directed here by one of our surveyors, working on site. Perhaps you saw them working in your area and want to know why, or you don't understand what it is that we do. This page sets out our position with regard to 3rd parties who express an interest in our work.
Why have I been sent to this web page?
Our main priority is to complete our work safely, thoroughly and efficiently for our clients - and to do so with respect and courtesy to everybody that we encounter. As with any business, we are subject to data protection laws and contractual obligations and we are not at liberty to discuss details with the general public about who our clients are and what their purposes for instructing us are.
From the point of view of our surveyors, these questions can also be extremely frequent and can result in undue pressure on their time. Our surveyors need to maintain focus on the survey and alertness to the hazards in the working environment. We want them to be able to carry out their work in a controlled and effective manner, without rushing to make up lost time - and to return home safely to their loved ones.
Who are you and what are you doing?
We are a private limited company of measurement surveyors. Regulated by the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) as Chartered Land Surveyors. Our clients pay us to to collect survey and mapping data (measurements) for land, buildings, watercourses, roads, buried services etc. We use tripods and gps poles, survey instruments with eye safe lasers, radar, sonar and survey boats/drones whilst complying with legal and regulatory frameworks.
We access public and private land and buildings belonging to our clients, or belonging to or occupied by organisations or other 3rd parties who have consented to our access. We sometimes operate from public roads and spaces and carry appropriate public liability insurance.
What are you planning on doing?
We are strictly measurement surveyors and we have no say on how our measurements will be used.
How do I get in touch?
If you have any concerns about the safety of the public or a member of staff, please call 01158 497 685 , we want to hear from you as soon as possible so that we can investigate this promptly.
If your enquiry relates to any of the information discussed above about the purpose for the survey or our clients details, we will not be able to provide any additional information.
You are welcome to send an email, clearly stating your consent for us to pass your details on to our client. We will forward your query and confirm that we have done so but we will not be able to provide any further updates or assistance. In this case please email 3rdparty@topographical.co.uk
Thank you
Thank you for showing an interest in our work and we hope that you now understand our position with regard to operating safely, efficiently and within the law. We hope that you can be assured that we would extend the same courtesy should you ever require the services of a measurement surveyor.
